As far as long time residents go, this boy is one of the top 3. He has been at VBAC&AC almost 7 months. Buck sits in the back and waits. He seems to have been forgotten everyone. Yesterday Monica asked me to go outside with her and take some pics of Buck in the pasture. At that moment I saw Bucks true personality shine. The one you don't get to see in the kennel. Buck, who sits and looks out of hi
s kennel while other dogs come and go, just hoping the person walking by will give him a cookie, forgot the last 7 months of waiting and turned back into a happy puppy the minute his feet hit the grass. He ran and ran. He rolled and smiled. He got himself covered in grass & dirt and totally stole my heart! I stood there thinking, how unfair for this boy to have been forgotten. He has much life in him just waiting for a chance to enjoy it. He is still a young dog, so he has lots of energy and he is very strong. He is also very treat motivated and could easily be trained by someone willing to give him a chance. Buck has more than paid his dues for coming in as a stray pit bull. Time to share his story and face and help him towards his happy ending!! Buck may not be great with other dogs, but he still needs to be tested before that goes on his "permanent record". If you have a dog you must bring them for a meet and greet in order to adopt Buck. Available now at VBAC&AC. ID#1205-0893

 

Virginia Beach Animal Care & Adoption Center has wonderful pets available for adoption.  As of December 6, all animals are now at the new shelter at 341 Birdneck Road.  The former shelter on Leroy Drive is now closed.  If you have lost a pet, please visit the shelter in person and often as lost animals arrive everyday.
